About Basecamp Italy
Personal, authentic, Italian. Not a travel agency, but a host who welcomes you.
Why Piemonte?
In early 2024, we bought a house in the hills of Piemonte, near Monte Rosa and the Valsesia. A fixer-upper, a fun project, meant for ourselves and to let family and friends enjoy.
The house was finished sooner than expected. And then the idea started to grow: this is too beautiful to keep to ourselves. The nature here, the mountains, the villages, the food — it's authentic Italy in a way you rarely experience as a tourist.
That's why I started Basecamp Italy. Small groups, a well-planned programme and personal guidance. From airport pickup to the closing BBQ in the garden. Not a travel agency, just someone who's passionate about the region and loves to share it.
Our holiday home in Zuccaro
Your own home base in Piemonte. No hotel, no other guests. Just your team, in an authentic Italian house at the foot of Monte Rosa. The house has three floors, each with their own living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom — plenty of space for the whole group.
Piemonte — Italy's hidden gem
Piemonte is located in the northwest of Italy, at the foot of the Alps. The region is world-renowned for its Barolo and Barbaresco wines, the white truffle of Alba, and the Valsesia — the valley at the foot of Monte Rosa.
But Piemonte is more than food and drink. The mountain rivers and hills are perfect for rafting, canyoning, and mountain biking. It is the ideal combination: adventure in nature during the day, enjoying a meal together in the evening.
The location is easily accessible: 50 minutes by car from Milan Malpensa airport, 1.5 hours from Turin. From September 2026, there is also a night train from the Netherlands to Milan — ideal if you prefer not to fly.
